HauteTrades

There are two types of HauteTrades. You can make a Trade-Offer or purchase an item using Haute-Points-Only.

 

Trade-Offer:

- 1 item for 1 item

- 2 items for 1 item

- 1 item + Haute-Points for 1 item

 

Once you've submitted your Trade-Offer, the recipient has 48 hours to accept or decline it. If the recipient accepts your Trade-Offer, please immediately print your shipping label and send her the item(s).

 

Haute-Points-Only:

You may purchase an item outright using the number of Haute-Points assigned to its tier value. An Haute-Points-Only trade may not be declined except if the item is listed as Premium - Not Accepting Haute-Points.

WHAT ARE TIERS?

Tiers and tier values

Each of the designer labels approved for listing on HauteTrader has been assigned to a tier from 1 through 4. For example, DVF is Tier-1, and Chanel is Tier-4.

 

An item's tier value determines the number of Haute-Points awarded to you upon successfully completing an item-for-item trade.

 

Tier-1 item = 100 Haute-Points

Tier-2 item = 200 Haute-Points

Tier-3 item = 300 Haute-Points

Tier-4 item = 400 Haute-Points

TRADER REQUIREMENTS

Trader Requirements

Before you may begin trading on HauteTrader, you are required to list in your closet at least 3 items and to verify your phone number.

Item Listing

To list an item, cick List Now. Upload at least 3 clear and accurate high-resolution images of your item (as viewed from the front, side, and back), and enter a short description. Our style team will screen your listing within the next 24 hours. We'll notify you by e-mail when your listing goes live on the site.

1. Only send an item that is in the condition portrayed and described in your listing.

 

2.  Don't make a Trade Offer unless you're sure you want to make that trade in order to avoid canceled trade listings.

 

3.  Don't bully or harass other users on the site.

 

4.  Give honest reviews which ONLY contain content related to the trade in question. 

 

5.  Reviews should be based on the Trade Transaction and NOT your personal opinion about the Trader.

 

6. If, for whatever reason, another user tries to convince you not to use our Premium feature, be wary of that user. 

 

7. Your bio can only include information pertaining to yourself. Do not advertise or bash anyone  else in your bio. 

 

8. Don't send any item that is in a condition that you would not be happy to receive yourself.

 

9. Always inspect an item before sending it.

 

10. If you're not certain that the item you're listing is authentic, don't list it. Listing fake items will result in user termination. 

 

11. If you are at any point unsatisfied with an item you receive, please file a dispute and contact us, if necessary. DO NOT contact the other trader. We ask that you wait to leave a review for said user until all actions have been taken to resolve the dispute.

 

12. Ship your Trade Item within 7 days, or the trade agreement will be canceled.

 

13. Do not list anything that you've had for more than 7 years. We do not accept vintage items on this site.

 

14. You may only list items from designers that are approved in our Designer Index. DO NOT list any item under a false designer, or the listing will be removed.

 

15. Do not knowingly trade for an item which is not approved in our Designer Index. Instead, if you happen to see an unapproved item, please notify HT support via the “report an item” pop-up.

 

16. If you notice any unusual or suspicious activity by another user, please contact us, but DO NOT contact that user regarding this activity.

 

17. Always photograph items in good lighting to avoid potential conflict. DO NOT mask the condition of an item by photographing it in poor lighting.

 

18. Do not discourage members from listing items as premium.

 

19. If a bag is listed as not accepting Haute-Points, do not ask the member if they will accept your Haute-Points. 

 

20. Do not utilize the comment boards to make offers. if you would like to make an offer, please submit one via the Make Offer page. 

 

21. Do not use HauteTrader as a forum to promote or advertise competitor websites, interests, or views.

 

22. Do not post content that endorses illegal activity or violence.

 

23. Do not post content that violates another person or entity’s rights, including privacy or intellectual rights. 

 

24. Do not ask any member for personal contact information in the pursuit of making outside transactions.

                       

24. Only add photos of items that are up-to-date. 

 

25. If you opt out of our Premium protection and feel that you've received a counterfeit item, please have the item inspected by a professional before starting a dispute or accusing that member of selling a fraudulent item.

 

26. Please only list items on the site that you're positive you are ready to trade. If you have items in your closet listed on other sites, be sure to remove them from HauteTrader should they sell. 

 

27. Do not mark items as "On hold" for any particular members. 

 

28. Honor your Instant Haute-Points trades and ship them immediately!

 

We want a safe, fair, and pleasant  community. We ask that you treat other members as you would like to be treated.

Your Trader-Closet 

Your Trader-Closet is where you present yourself to the other members and where they can connect with you. Personalizing your closet by stating your size, style, and favorite designers helps other traders to tailor their Trade-Offers to perfectly suit your tastes.

Escrow

When someone accepts your Trade-Offer or your Haute-Points-Only trade, we'll place your designated Haute-Points in escrow for safekeeping. As soon as we receive confirmation that your trade has been completed, we'll release your Haute-Points into your account.

Each item listing has its own Comment Board where you can post messages and receive replies, or just find out what people are saying about the item.

Disputes and Resolutions Policy
 

 

TRADE-AGREEMENT FORFEITURE:  

 

Members are required to ship their items within 7 days of Trade-Agreement date

 

 

In an Haute-Points-Only trade, if the trade recipient fails to ship within 7 days, the trade agreement is canceled and the shipping label is considered deactivated. At this 7 day period, the Haute-Points in escrow and associated Trade-fee is returned to the trade initiator.

 

In a Trade-Offer, if ONE trader fails to ship her item within 7 days, HauteTrader issues a reminder asking her to send it within the next 8 daysIf she fails to ship the item before the extended deadline, HauteTrader may place her on the Lame-Girl List and expel her from our community. The member who has not received her item(s) is refunded her Trade-Fee and is awarded the item's allocated Haute-Points value as compensation for her lost item.

 

In a Trade-Offer, if BOTH traders fail to ship their items within 7 days, the trade agreement is canceled and the shipping label is considered deactivated. Both traders forfeit their Trade-Fees. Neither trader receives any Haute-Points.

 

 

 

HAUTETRADER DISPUTE POLICY: Effective May 1st, 2016

 
If the item you have received is not the item you agreed to trade or is not in the condition described in the listing or portrayed in the photos, you may launch a Trade-Dispute. You must launch your Trade-Dispute within 3 days of receiving the item. 
 
 
HauteTrader's Trade-Dispute process cannot facilitate Re-Trades, because these are not the items within the original Trade-Agreement. Should you and the corresponding trader decide to make a Re-Trade for an item outside the original Trade-Agreement, you will not be able to utilize the Trade-Dispute and Re-Trade process facilitated by HauteTrader.
 
 
Within 5 days of the dispute launch date, HauteTrader will issue a decision declaring the trade GOOD or BAD
 
 
Before launching your dispute, please take note:
 
 
HauteTrader considers a trade to be GOOD in the following situations:
1.  The item is in good condition but does not fit to your liking
2.  The item is in good condition but you do not like it after viewing it in person
3.  The item's color differs from how it appeared in the photo, but the color difference is due to lighting
4.  The item's detailing is not to your liking
5.  The item's scent is not to your liking
6.  The item has flaws that HAVE been mentioned in the listing description
 
 
HauteTrader considers a trade to be BAD in the following situations:
1.  The item's size is not as listed
2.  The item's condition is not as listed
3.  The item has flaws that HAVE NOT been mentioned in the listing description
4.  The item's condition is marked is excellent, but the item is not in perfect (as new) condition
6.  The item's condition is marked as gently loved, but the item is in unwearable or visibly worn condition.
7.  You have received the wrong item
 
 
If you wish to cancel your Trade-Dispute, please contact Support@HauteTrader.com as soon as possible. If HauteTrader issues a decision regarding your Trade-Dispute before you cancel it, you are required to abide by the rules and requirements of the dispute decision. 
 
 
If your disputed trade is declared GOOD

If HauteTrader declares the trade GOOD, the trade is considered successful, and Haute-Points are released to both traders.
In the event that your disputed trade is declared GOOD but you are still not satisfied with your item, we recommend that you re-list it with a full and detailed description of the item and all of its issues. Someone else is sure to love it.
 
 
If your disputed trade is declared BAD
 
 
In a Trade-Offer, if HauteTrader declares the trade BAD, the trade is considered unsuccessful, and Haute-Points are not released to either trader. The dispute initiator is refunded her Trade-Fee (minus $6.00 for shipping and processing costs). The dispute recipient is not refunded her Trade-Fee.
 
 
In an Haute-Points-Only trade, if HauteTrader declares the trade BAD, the dispute initiator's Haute-Points are returned to her spending account after the dispute recipient has received the returned item and marked it as delivered. At this point, the dispute is considered closed and cannot be reopened. 
 
 
If a disputed trade is declared BAD because the trader has sent the wrong item, and she now wishes to send the correct item, she is not allowed to utilize the Trade-Dispute and Re-Trade process facilitated by HauteTrader.
 
 
When a disputed trade is declared BAD, both traders receive a pre-printed shipping label via email. They are required to ship their items within 3 days.
 
 
If the dispute recipient fails to ship the Re-Traded item within  7 days, HauteTrader may suspend some of her account capabilities until the item is confirmed delivered. 
 
 
If the dispute initiator fails to ship the Re-Traded item within 10 days, HauteTrader may suspend some of her account capabilities until the item is confirmed delivered. 
 
 
If the dispute recipient fails to ship the Re-Traded item within 15 days, HauteTrader may place her on the Lame-Girl List or expel her from the system. She must ship the item to HauteTrader HQ before we will consider reactivating her account and removing her from the Lame-Girl List. The dispute initiator receives her item's allotted Haute-Points as compensation, as long as she has fulfilled her Re-Trade requirements.
 
If the dispute initiator fails to ship the Re-Traded item within 15 days, HauteTrader may place her on the Lame-Girl List or expel her from the system. She must ship the item to HauteTrader HQ before we will consider reactivating her account and removing her from the Lame-Girl List. The dispute recipient receives half of her item's allotted Haute-Points, as long as she has fulfilled her Re-Trade requirements. 
 
If both traders fail to ship their Re-Traded items within 15 days, the Trade-Dispute and Re-Trade process is closed, and no further action may be taken by either trader.
 
 
Please note: For Trade-Offer agreements, the Re-Trade process cannot be launched until after both members have shipped their items.
